First Grade Goals:
*To spiritually grow and understand more about God
*To know how much God loves them
To see that God is everything(even reading, math, language etc.)
*To grow in the areas of friendship and responsibility
*To show the fruit of the spirit in their lives
Reading Language and Spelling:
1. Read more fluently and be able to sound out harder words by applying special sounds and sight words.
2. Improvement in comprehension
3. Improvement in language and writing skills (sentences)
4. Improvement in spelling ( using special sounds to aid in spelling)
Math
1. Count, write, and read numbers to 1,000
2. Memorize the addition and subtraction facts up to 14
3. Count with tally marks and count coins in mixed order
4. Adding two and three digit numbers
5. Subtract two and three digit numbers
6. Use a scale, and graphs
7. Telling time to the minute
8. Understand and make a calendar
9. Knowing fractions to one fourth
10. Understanding different measures
11. Read and understand word problems in subtraction and addition
Handwriting
1. Have correct body position
2. Have correct paper position
3. Hold a pencil correctly
4. To form letters correctly
History
1. Understand about our flag
2. Understand some important events in our nation's history
3. Understand the size of our country
4. Basic understanding of some of the countries around the world
Science
1. Basic understanding of the world God made (plants, animals, seasons, wind, water, insects)
2. Basic understanding how God made our bodies
